A concentrated machine-gun fire demonstration against Monchy by the the 110th Infantry Brigade at 18:40hrs, after, drew no retaliation on this sector; but after the first burst of fire a group of three green rockets went up from the trenches in front on Monchy and similar groups were sent up frequently til 19:30hrs, extending as far south as E23 d. Since no result followed, the signal was presumably an alarm.

Patrols met no enemy parties.
