John Hodgson served in the 9th Battalion, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. His service number was 19164.

John sailed for France with the Battalion on 25th September 1915.

At some point, John transferred into the Labour Corps, his new service number was 582461. This was likely due to his age, or an injury that prevented him remaining at the front.

Unfortunately no service papers are available.
