LATHAM.–In sad but loving memory of Private THOMAS LATHAM, 29664. died of wounds June 7th 1917, age 25. Loyal North Lancashire Regiment (employed L. and Y. C0.)

Such was the shock I received that day,
When God called my dear son away,
The trial is hard, though I’ll not complain,
But trust in God to meet again.
Perhaps some comrade breathed a prayer,
Ere death for ever closed his eyes,
Though I am here my heart is where
My gallant soldier son lies.
One of the best.
From his heartbroken MOTHER, BROTHERS, SISTERS and brother CHARLES (in France).  35, Tutbury-street, Ancoats, Manchester.

We little thought when we said good-bye
We parted for ever and you were to die;
The grief that I feel words cannot tell
That I could be with you to bid you farewell.
On whose soul, sweet Jesus, have mercy.
Sorrowing sweetheart, KITTY.

LATHAM.-In loving memory of Private T. LATHAM, 29664 Loyal North Lancs., died of wounds June 7, 1917

Sleep on, dear brother, in a far-off land,
In a grave we shall never see.
But as long as life and memory last
We shall always think of thee.
From his loving SISTER and BROTHER-IN-LAW (in training). 130, Ridgway-street, Ancoats.
